New cupcake classes for Jun -Aug

Interested in creating show stopping cupcakes for your next birthday or celebration? Join one of the classes below to learn a wide range of techniques for dressing your cupcake with buttercream or fondant. All class sizes are kept small to allow for individuals to learn the skills. All cupcakes and equipment will be provided, just bring your apron and be ready to create!!!


Christmas in July    
Sat Jul  7, 2 - 5:30pm or Sun Jul 8, 12 – 3:30pm
Get ready for Christmas 2012 by learning this set of cute Christmas fondant cupcakes .  It will over:
·         how to ganache/cover a cupcake with a flawless fondant finish
·         how to emboss  fondant
·         how to create elf and snowman faces
·         simple modelling techniques to create a bow and a tree
·         using  cupcake ‘make-up’ - painting with lustre, adding sparkle with disco dust and creating cheeks with lustre dust.

Sun Jun 24, 12 – 3:30pm  
This class is for anyone who is interested in creating fancy cupcakes using fondant:    It will cover
  • how to colour fondant
  • how to prep and cover cupcakes with ganache
  • 3 different fondant covering techniques:plain, embossed, embedded
  • a variety of fondant decorations including simple modelling and

Shabby Chic Buttercream Cupcakes   

Sat Jun 23, 10am - 1:30pm
This  class is for anyone who is interested in creating some show stopping cupcakes for your next birthday/celebration. It will cover:
·       how to fill and hold a piping bag
·      how to colour buttercream/fondant 
·       4-5 diff cupcake covering techniques incl the buttercream swirl
·     how to make simple fondant decorations like flowers
You will also receive a handout with many resources



Princess: all thing pink and purple     
Sat Aug 18, 10am - 2pm
Are pink and purple the only colours that exist for the little girls in your life?  You will create 5 cupcakes based on a princess theme.  It will cover:
  •          how to ganache/cover your cupcake w/a smooth fondant finish
  •          how to emboss fondant
  •          how to create the impressive buttercream swirl
  •          using molds and cutter
  •       how to make a simple 3D princess using

Cakes made for 2 brothers who share the same birthday!  I was so excited to be able to use my new scrapbooking supplies to make the bunting!

Ruffle Cake

I have been itching to make an ombre cake like this - I had been inspired by seeing someone's rainbow cake and thought using one colour would be nicer.  This was a white cake that I coloured with varying amounts of raspberry paste and I added raspberry flavouring to the cake

The icing is Italian Meringue Buttercream flavoured with some lemon curd - yum!!!
The cake was 4 inches in diameter and maybe almost 8 inches talk!  My first attempt at doing ruffles.

So pretty on the inside too....
